CANCER

Dealing with the daily realities of a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Our home care professionals can help you manage the long list of details, from keeping track of medications to dealing with unpleasant side effects, such as nausea and vomiting.

At Partners in Care, we create a detailed Plan of Care tailored to your loved one's specific condition and needs. When we have determined the right services, we'll assign a specially trained home health aide or skilled nurse, depending upon the type of care you need or desire, to help you prevent complications before they develop and ease the stress on every member of the household.

A typical plan may include:

  • Helping to manage stress.
  • Checking vital signs (body temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates).
  • Shopping and preparing healthy meals that fit your doctor-prescribed diet.
  • Accompanying you to and from outpatient treatments or to follow up appointments.
  • Doing laundry and light household chores so you can rest.
  • Providing support, strategies and resources (anxiety and fear make it harder to follow treatment).
  • Working with your doctor to evaluate your nutrition needs and hydration requirements and developing a meal plan accordingly.
